Meet the Staff
Dr. Mark Sween
Dr. Mark Sween grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota. He is a graduate of St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Coming from a family of dentists, Dr. Mark has been around dentistry all his life and took ownership of the practice in 2009. His special interests in dentistry include prevention, tooth colored restorations, and root canal therapy.
Dr. Mark prides himself in being available to his patients when unexpected problems arise. He lives in Golden Valley and has two adult children. He enjoys golf, hockey and cycling in his free time.
Heidi
Heidi attended the Dental Assisting Program at North Technical College. She has 40 years of experience in dental assisting. Heidi started working at Sween Dental in 2007 and has no plans of ever leaving!
In her free time Heidi enjoys spending time at her cabin with friends and family, bird watching, pontooning, gardening and baking.
Jill
Jill started at Sween Dental in August of 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in Dental Hygiene. Jill has over 24 years of dental hygiene experience, including clinical work, non-profit work and teaching.
When she isn’t working, Jill enjoys traveling with friends and family to warmer climates. Her favorite locations are beaches!
Cheryl
Cheryl has been apart of the Sween Dental family for several years. She has just celebrated working in the dental field for 40 years! In her free time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
Nichole
Nichole has worked in the dental field for 6 years, and started at Sween Dental in 2021. She studied allied health biology before switching to healthcare administration. Nichole works as a patient care coordinator at the front desk, taking phone calls, supporting the clinical staff, and working with insurance companies to help ensure coverage. She loves traveling to tropical destinations, swimming, and curling up at home with her animals watching horror movies.
Amanda
Amanda started at Sween Dental in July 2023. She is a 2005 graduate of Minnesota State University School of Dental Hygiene Mankato and was voted “Golden Scaler” by her professors. Amanda has 19 years of dental hygiene experience, including clinical hygiene and has also spent time as an instructor.
Amanda moved to Sween Dental to be closer to her home and serve patients locally. In her free time, Amanda enjoys going on vacations, playing games with family and spending time with her husband and two children.
